REST
Everyone needs rest in life sometimes, otherwise it becomes exhausting (and that's something I can tell from experience).
What would be a better time than our beloved nightless summer. School's over for younger ones, and for us olders - at least it's a break from darkness and coldness for a little time.
Take care and give yourselves a permission to REST!

PS. I was resting today by laying down in the sun and checking out the trends for this summer.

Battles and Shows
Kids, juniors, adults. Solos, duos, small groups, formations, showcases, battles.
Finnish Championship 2011 -contest was organized last weekend in Espoo. Urban dance community gathered again together to compete, show and battle.

Since I just came back to Finland from the journey around the world, I couldn't participate with any group really. So, it was time to finally try battling for the first time. Even though the situation to throw yourself in to the battle field is a bit scary, this style of competing in street dances feels more natural than just performing for an audience and/or judges.
For me, 1vs1 battle was all about winning myself, and I'm proud of myself. I didn't freeze complitely in a battle that was against one of the best dancers in Finland, a woman that won the whole thing in the end. Thumbs up for all you battlers!
Most of all, I am a show person. My favourite part of the championships has always been Showcases. They bring the newest, craziest and the most absurd pieces of urban dance on stage. My favourite one this year came 2nd, AMAZING SHOW!
